Acts 20:22-24 (NIV)
However, I consider my life worth nothing to me; my only aim is to finish the race and complete the task the Lord Jesus has given me—the task of testifying to the good news of God’s grace.
Paul was finishing his third missionary journey.
Instead of stopping in Ephesus, where he had spent three years, he asked the elders to meet ( to talk about false teachers) him at the port of Miletus while he was going to Jerusalem.
v 22 : Paul compelled by Holy Spirit, going to Jersulalem, knowing that prison and hardships are waiting.
v 24: His only aim is finish the race and complete the task the Lord Jesus has given me.
Question:
Am I running the race that God has asked me todo ?
Am I ready to finish the race that God has planned for me like Paul did ?
Am I ready for the hardhsip during the race ? Paul still ran the race knowing that he will be in Prison during his visit Jersulalem ?
Prayer:
Today my prayer is to choose to run the race that God has planned for me, like Paul did and also finish the race irrepective of all the challenges.
2 Timothy 4:7: Paul declares he has finished the race.
Hebrews 12:1: Encourages running the race with perseverance.
1 Corinthians 9:24: Urges believers to run to win the prize.
